History |
The Building That Houses Jack's Hardware & Antiques was Originally Built As A Feed Store in 1918. The Feed Store Operated Until 1922 When the Building Was Converted Into An Auto Repair Garage. In the 1930's Hasty Transfer & Storage Used The Building To Sell Unclaimed Freight That Was Recovered From The Railroad Depot. In The 1940's Jack Heard Bought The Building And Opened It As A Hardware & Furniture Store. Jack Heard Lived & Worked In The Building Until 1970. From 1970 Until 1982 Jack Smith Continued The Hardware Tradition. In 1982 Doug Jackson Bought The Business And Ran It Until 1999. Doug Expanded The Business Providing Small Engine & Tool Repair As Well As The Hardware, Furniture & Hard To Find Items. The Building Sits Unopened To The Public From 1999 To 2009.
